Alice Shoemaker

Alice Elizabeth Shoemaker, 96, of Decatur passed away on Monday, July 30, 2019 at Adams Woodcrest in Decatur. She was born on March 24, 1923 in Decatur to Noah W. and Rufine (Beer) Roth. She was married on May 28, 1966 to Robert E. Shoemaker.
She worked in the office at Central Soya for 20 years and for Indiana Michigan & Electric Company for 21 years. She was a lifelong resident of Adams County and a member of Zion United Church of Christ where she was involved in the Women’s Guild, sang in the choir, was a Sunday school teacher and president of the Friendship Circle.
She is survived her husband; and brother, LaVern “Chick” (Donna) Roth of Decatur.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Vera Neaderhouser.
Visitation will be two hours prior to the 1 p.m. funeral service on Saturday, August 3 at Zion United Church of Christ. Graveside service will follow at MRE Cemetery in Berne. Officiating will be Rev. Randy Rossman.
Memorials may be made to the Zion United Church of Christ.
