Alice Marie Beer, 81 of Berne passed away Friday, August 27, 2021, at Adams Woodcrest in Decatur. She was born February 11, 1940, in Berne to Waldo and Bertha (Gerber) Stauffer. She was married July 4, 1957, in Berne to DeWayne L. Beer.
She was a member of Cross Community Church in Berne. She was a homemaker and farmer for over 50 years. She also worked as a cook at Chalet Village Health and Rehabilitation in Berne. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, cooking and sewing.
She is survived by her son, Charles L. (Mona) Beer of Berne; two daughters, Sandra J. (Fred) Affolder of Geneva; and Ann M. (Tim) Geimer of Decatur; two sisters, Marjorie Kiel of Princeton, Minnesota; and Louise (David) Nussbaum of Berne; brother, Malcolm (Jeannie) Stauffer of Berne; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband on September 25, 2011.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 31 from 3-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service Wednesday, September 1 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Yager-Kirchhofer Chapel in Berne. Officiating will be Pastor Chris Kruchkow. Burial will be at MRE Cemetery in Berne. The family requests those attending follow CDC guidelines.
