Alex Neal

Alex Raymond Neal, 79, of Geneva passed away Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2024, at 1:10 p.m. at the Fort Wayne VA Medical Center in Fort Wayne. He was born Friday, Nov. 24, 1944, in Hot Springs, Arkansas to Carl R. “Pop” and Iva P. (Simmons) Neal. He was married to Carol Rose (Lepper) Neal.
He attended Berne French High School and served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked for EPC for 40 years. He was a member of the Mizpah Shrine, Ft. Wayne; Masonic Lodge, Geneva; VFW, Geneva; and the Berne Legion. He enjoyed playing the guitar and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his two sons, Rick L. (Barb) Rolston of Decatur; and Troy L. Rolston of Marion; two daughters, Taya S. Amstutz of Noblesville; and Tina (Chad Wortman) Roberts of Indianapolis; six grandchildren, Travis Rolston of Decatur; Sydney Cavalier of Westfield; Lexie Amstutz; and Stephanie Roberts, both of Indianapolis; and Cassandra Blanchard; and Eric Amstutz, both of Muncie; two sisters, Shirley Ellis of Geneva; and Betty (Tom) Swoveland of Uniopolis, Ohio; brother, Shelby (Cindy) Neal of Anderson; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and brother-in-law, Coy Ellis.
Visitation will be Sunday, Jan. 21 from 1-5 p.m. at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home, 100 N. Washington St., Geneva. A service to celebrate his life will take place Monday, Jan. 22 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Joe Lampton. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Geneva. Military rites will be conducted by the U.S. Marine Corps, the Geneva VFW and the Berne American Legion.
