Amstutz proposes change in board member compensation policy

Attendance vs. compensation - that was the discussion held during the South Adams School Board meeting on Tuesday evening. School Board president Arlene Amstutz proposed a change to the current school board compensation policy so that the policy reads “compensation up to $2,000” instead of “compensation of $2,000.” She then proposed that the amount would then be split into two stipends of $400 a year plus $100 a month for each regular board meeting the members attend. In this way, board members would still be earning the $2,000 they have been up to this point.
