S. Oren Woodward

S. Oren Woodward, 84, of New Haven passed away Friday, April 28, 2023, at Golden Years Homestead in Fort Wayne. He was born Oct. 6, 1938, in Reading, Pennsylvania to George P. and Mary Opal (Huff) Woodward. He was married June 29, 1957, to Faye E. Haines.
He was a member of Berne Church of the Nazarene. He drove a milk truck in his younger years before going into the ministry. He was a missionary, where he served overseas for many years. He also served as a preacher, evangelist and in children’s ministries during the summer. He loved his family and being used by God to bring honor to him.
He is survived by three daughters, Sharon (Guy) Blazer of Washington Court House, Ohio; Manna Asher of Belleville, Illinois; and Brenda (Jonathan) Hinkle of New Haven; sister, Anna Schiedly of New Jersey; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife on Dec. 16, 2021; son, Merlin Woodward; sister, Priscilla Seymour; and foster son, Johnie Harry LaBott.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service Saturday, May 6 at Berne Church of the Nazarene. Officiating will be Rev. Matthew Phillips. Burial will be at Six Mile Cemetery in Bluffton.
Memorials may be made to Erma Camp, Cape May, New Jersey.
