Paul Nussbaum

Paul D. Nussbaum, 92, of Berne passed away Friday, Jan. 20, 2023, at Swiss Village in Berne. He was born Nov. 16, 1930, to Wilbert and Lila (Sprunger) Nussbaum. He was married June 11, 1950, to Donna Lou Crist.
He attended the West Missionary Church in Berne and was also a former member of the Monroe United Methodist Church where he served on many boards, taught Sunday school, was a lay leader and sang in the choir.
He was a lifelong farmer. He worked for Zurcher Tire in Monroe for 35 years, and he drove bus for Adams Central Community Schools for 13 years. He served the Adams Central community on the school board for eight years. He was a loyal Adams Central fan, cheering on the Jets until the end.
He is survived by his son-in-law, Rick Minnich of Decatur; four grandchildren, Spencer Aalbregtse; Alyssa Wachtmann; AnnDee Reiff; and Joel Minnich; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife on Sep. 25, 2009; three daughters, Jackie Aalbregtse; Teresa “Shorty” Nussbaum; and Barbara Minnich; three sisters, Bernice Flueckinger; Mary Jane Sprunger; and Ruth Schwartz; and one brother, Jerome Nussbaum.
Visitation will be three hours prior to the 1 p.m. funeral service Wednesday, Jan. 25 in the Swiss Village Auditorium in Berne. Officiating will be Joel Minnich and Pastor Keith Rupp. Burial will be at Ray Cemetery in Monroe.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to West Missionary Church.
