Patrick Lengerich

Patrick J. “Pat” Lengerich, 67, of Decatur, went to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, Nov. 27, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born Jan. 20, 1956, in Decatur to John C. and Anna M. (Korba) Lengerich. He was married Nov. 4, 1978, to Mary Ann Staub.
He attended First Baptist Church of Decatur. He was a valued employee of Selking International, working there as a mechanic for 50 years.
He loved traveling and taking his annual camping and hiking trips with his sons. He and his family visited 41 national parks, Yosemite being his favorite. He was a hard worker and dedicated family man. He enjoyed gardening and tending to his fruit trees, woodworking, playing cards and watching ballgames. He was a man of few words. He never complained about anything and never had an unkind word to say about anyone.
He is survived by his wife of Decatur; three sons, Adam J. (Sunny) Lengerich of Seattle, Washington; Bret M. Lengerich of Los Angeles, California; and Drew M. Lengerich of Boston, Massachusetts; and seven siblings, Kathleen Lengerich of Westfield; Steve (Sandy) Lengerich of Sheridan; Jean Survance of Cannelburg; David (Sandy) Lengerich; and Mark (Judy) Lengerich, both of Decatur; Paul (Patti) Lengerich of Fort Lupton, Colorado; and Rita (John) Gill of Greenback, Tennessee.
Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 1 from 3-6 p.m. at Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home in Decatur. Funeral services will be Saturday, Dec. 2 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Decatur. Officiating will be Pastor Whitney West. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
