Patricia Stucky

Patricia Sue Stucky, 84, of West Lafayette passed away peacefully Saturday, Sep. 2, 2023, surrounded by her husband and family and is now with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and singing in the Heavenly choir. She was born Oct. 1, 1938, in Jackson, Michigan to Albert and Helen (Bowman) Flueckiger. The family moved to Berne following her father’s death in 1946. She was married June 16, 1957, in Berne to Steve Stucky.
She graduated in 1956 from Berne-French High School in Berne. She was very musical and had a beautiful voice. She loved to sing, was in many church choirs and sang solos on many occasions. She also played piano and flute in her high school band and orchestra.
She was active in the Lafayette community and served as a Girl Scout leader, a member of the board of directors of the Lafayette YWCA, the Lafayette Symphony Orchestra and the Lafayette Symphony Guild. She also served as the chief financial officer and treasurer of The S.P. Stucky Company, the family business. She was a member of a number of clubs — PEO, Monday Club, the John Purdue Club, Tri Kappa and the Purdue President’s Council. She was a member of Central Presbyterian Church.
She loved playing golf and bridge, attending the symphony and all things Purdue. She loved her flowers, cooking and entertaining and traveling. Always fashionable, she loved shopping, a beautiful pair of shoes and purse, and anything red — especially lipstick, nail polish or a glass of wine. Spending time with family and being at their northern Michigan lake home was like Heaven on earth.
She is survived by her husband of West Lafayette; daughter, Greta S. Perdue (Dennis) Dodson of West Lafayette; son, Robert S. (Theresa) Stucky of West Lafayette; seven grandchildren, Randy (Jennifer) Wolf; Katrina (fiancé Hamlett Dobbins) Perdue; Rusty (Erin) Perdue; Andy Perdue; Alexa (Jennifer) Stucky; Spencer (Emily) Stucky; and Emily Stucky; and eight great-grandchildren, all of whom she was very proud. She was preceded in death by her parents; her older brother, Jerry A. (Kay) Flueckiger of Berne; and son-in-law, Fred Perdue of Lafayette.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. funeral service Saturday, Sep. 9 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd, Lafayette. Officiating will be Rev. Will Reinowski. To celebrate her favorite color, you are invited to wear anything red. Entombment will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens in West Lafayette.
