Norma Minnich

Norma L. Minnich, 87, of Portland passed away Saturday, Feb. 18, 2023, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. She was born June 27, 1935, in Portland to Carl and Frona (Ford) Garlinger. She was married March 7, 1953, to Edward Minch, and he passed away March 30, 2006. She was married Oct. 22, 2011, to Paul Minnich.
She was a homemaker and had worked at CTS. She was a 1953 Bryant High School graduate and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She loved to travel and play cards.
She is survived by her husband; three sons, Rick (wife Jerry) Minch of Berne; Randy (wife Janette) Minch of New Haven; and Matt  (husband Michael) Minch of Wilmington, Delaware; four daughters Beth (husband Chip) Sammons; and Mary (fiance Rex Pennington) Bickle, both of Berne; Janean (husband Rickie) Taylor  of Perrin, Texas; and Carla (husband Jeff) Pogue of Portland; two stepsons, David (wife Heike) Minnich of Taylors, South Carolina; and Randy (wife Kristine) Minnich of Henderson, Nevada; four brothers, Robert (wife Nancy) Garlinger; and Joe (wife Donna) Garlinger, both of Geneva; Donald (wife Song) Garlinger of Spring Hill, Florida; and John Garlinger of Bryant; three sisters-in-law, Kathy Garlinger of Portland; Alice Minch of Bryant; and Jane Minch of Berne; in-laws, Harry (wife Kathy) Minnich; and Eileen Guntle, both of Portland; 17 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter Teresa Minch; two brothers, Ed Garlinger; and Tom Garlinger; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Feb. 22 from 5-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the 10 a.m. funeral service Thursday, Feb. 23 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Officiating will be Fr. Peter Logsdon. Burial will be at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
