Nancy Yoder

Nancy A. Yoder, 85, of Berne passed away late Saturday night, March 23, 2024. She had resided in Sonnenblum at Swiss Village. She was born Aug. 17, 1938, in Decatur to Arthur C. and Eleanor M. (Steele) Shoaf. She was married Oct. 20, 1957, at Monroe United Methodist to Earl W. Yoder.
She was a former member of the Monroe United Methodist Church in Monroe. She was a former Sunday school teacher and preschool teacher. She served as president of the United Methodist Women. She served as a 4-H leader for French Township Peppy Peppers and Adams Central and South Adams Mini-4-H Clubs.
She served in the lunchroom at Adams Central School for several years. She also worked part-time for the Adams County Extension Office for 15 years. Following the extension office, she worked at the South Adams Senior Center for a few years.
She is survived by her loving husband of Berne; three sons, Doug (Carolyn) Yoder of Hoagland; Jeff (Jill) Yoder of Monroe; and Brad (Taya) Yoder of Berne; brother, Jack (Sue) Shoaf of Berne; five grandsons, Joel (Virginia) Yoder; John (Ami) Yoder; Ryan Yoder; Reid (Cayla) Yoder; and Cale Yoder; granddaughter, Caylie Yoder; seven great-grandchildren, Karsen Eib and Kayden Yoder; Mia and Micah Yoder; William Yoder; and Ava Yoder and Adalyn Yoder.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Rena Lou Shoaf as an infant
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 27 from 3-5 and 6-8 p.m. and Thursday, March 28 for one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. funeral service at the Swiss Village Chapel in Berne. Officiating will be Pastor Mike Wertenberger. Burial will be at St. Luke’s Cemetery.
