Lou Anna Hirschy

Lou Anna Hirschy, 95, of Decatur passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at Adams Woodcrest in Decatur. She was born Nov. 9, 1927, to Benoit P. and Della M. (Longenberger) Johnson. She was married May 1, 1948, in Willshire, Ohio to Roy E. Hirschy.
She was a member of Monroe United Brethren in Christ Church. She was a homemaker who loved spending time with her family and friends. Although she didn’t have children of her own, her nieces and nephews were like children to her, and they all loved their Aunt Annie. She enjoyed cooking and canning for her family and friends. She collected dolls, stuffed animals and cookie jars.
She is survived by two brothers, John W. Johnson; and Richard D. (Nyla) Johnson, both of Decatur; sister, Patricia L. Jackson of Decatur; and 17 nieces and nephews, along with their children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on March 21, 2000; brother, Robert E. Johnson; sister, Glenda L. Holloway; three sisters-in-law, Roselyn Johnson Habegger; Annabelle Johnson; and Joan Johnson; three brothers-in-law, Donald Holloway; Earl Habegger; and Larry Jackson; one niece; one nephew; and one great-nephew.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 23 from 1-3 p.m and one hour prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service Monday, April 24 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur. Officiating will be Pastor Ernie Suman. Burial will be at MRE Cemetery in Berne.
