Lew E. Wingler

Lew E. Wingler, 75, of Geneva passed away at 6:50 p.m. on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at his residence. He was born to John and Leah (Sutton) Wingler. He was married on Saturday, July 27, 1963 in Arcola, Illinois to Diane Louise Farris.

He was a graduate of Arcola High School in Arcola, Illinois. He was the corporate engineer for Standard Brush & Broom in Portland. He attended Cross Community Church in Berne. He was a member of the Geneva VFW, Berne American Legion, N.R.A., Boy Scouts, and formerly served on the Geneva Town Council. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of Geneva; daughter, Jamie (Dennis) Kruse of Fishers; son, Shane Wingler of Muncie; five grandchildren, Erin Kruse of Fishers; Stephanie DeWitt of Westfield; Matthew Kruse of Grand Rapids, Michigan; Rossi Wingler of Paris, France; and Alleigh Tucker of Indianapolis; great-granddaughter, Brinley DeWitt; and special granddaughter, Jessica Sutton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, Gene, Alvin, Don, and Jerry Wingler.

Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 22 with a 7:30 p.m. funeral service at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home, 100 N. Washington St., Geneva. Officiating will be Pastor Chris Kruchkow.

Military rites will be conducted by the Geneva VFW and Berne American Legion.
