She was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and served under the tenure of four pastors as the bookkeeper and office manager for the parish. For over three decades, she sang soprano in the St. Mary’s Choir and had a deep love of music. She was a 1965 graduate of Decatur Catholic High School, where she was a member of the state championship rifle team. She served two terms as Adams County councilwoman.
She worked side by side with her husband for 55 years in business, and they co-owned Cycle Isle, C.I. Distributing, and Electronics Plus. For the past 33 years, they worked together at local radio stations WQTZ and WZBD.
She was a two-time Indiana Snowmobile Association Champion. She played women’s slow pitch softball and was an umpire for Decatur Parks and Recreation summer softball. She was an avid bridge player. She was also an accomplished seamstress making most of her daughters' formal dresses including the bridesmaid’s dresses for several weddings. In the late 80s and early 90s, she also made the uniforms and flags for the Bellmont band drill team.
She loved spending time with her family, rarely missing any of her children’s events. As her family grew, she continued the tradition by attending her grandchildren’s and even her great-grandchildren’s activities.
