Jocelyn Parrish

Jocelyn Roan Parrish, 78, of Berne passed away Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2023, at home with her husband and high school sweetheart, Ralph Parrish. She was born March 15, 1945, to Jim and Ella (Baumgartner) McCullough. She and her husband were married March 9, 1963, and they welcomed three children.
She graduated from Adams Central High School in 1963. She was well-known for her baked goodies, especially cookies. She briefly worked at Arby’s and McDonald’s, but most of her time was spent being a homemaker and watching her grandchildren. She taught them about baking, and they enjoyed reading lots of books on her lap. She and her husband enjoyed entertaining guests, their family and small groups from church.
She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Peggy (Ronald) Hannah; and Pattie Bustos; son, Ben (Michelle) Parrish; 12 grandchildren, Aaron (Joy) Flum; Abbey McClure; Jared (Megan) Parrish; Brooke (Dustin) Schaefer; Katie Flum; Josh Flum; Alysse Bustos; Gage Bustos; Allie (Denver) Burkley; Logan Christian; Mia Bustos; and Trapper Bustos; 11 great-grandchildren, Kaleigh Wynn; Bryant Scudder; Briann Scudder; Janie McClure; Hailey McClure; Wyatt McClure; Parker Parrish; Greyson Parrish; Lynlee Parrish; Mira Schaefer; and Remington Schaefer; and sister, LaDonna (McCullough) Schaadt of Berne.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Brian McCullough; and an infant grandson, Nathan Lee Flum.
Her husband and the entire family appreciate everyone’s prayers and thoughts during this difficult time.
Per the family request, there will only be a private graveside service.
