Eleanor Morris

Eleanor M. Morris, 81, of Geneva passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at Swiss Village in Berne. She was born November 15, 1941, in Decatur to Robert LaDoyt and Faye Virginia (Myers) Miller. She was married in 1967 to William L. “Bill” Morris.
She served as executive director of the Adams County Community Foundation and was a member and officer on the Adams Public Library Board of Trustees. Prior to that position, she was an elementary school music teacher for both Adams Central and South Adams schools. Additionally, she worked for the Fourth District Congresswoman Jill Long.
She was an extremely talented musician playing both the piano and the organ and served as church organist for Geneva First United Methodist Church and Trinity United Methodist Church in Berne. Additionally, she enjoyed cooking and loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by two sons, Michael (Katria) Morris of Toledo, Ohio; and Robert (Jeff Gross) Morris of Apex, North Carolina; and sister, Janet (Larry) Macklin of Decatur.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband on December 1, 2013
Visitation will be one hour prior to the 11 a.m. memorial service Saturday, January 14 at Swiss Village in Berne. Officiating will be Pastor Herb Buwalda. Inurnment will take place at a later date at New Liberty Cemetery in Lynn.
Memorials may be made to the Adams County Community Foundation in memory of the William Morris Memorial Scholarship Fund.
