Cody Brandt

Cody Brandt Cody S. Brandt, 33, of Willshire, Ohio passed away Thursday, June 23, 2022, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne following a medical event that occurred at work June 15, 2022. He was born on Aug. 25, 1988, in Decatur to Steven Edward “Hoss” and Tina L. (Brown) Brandt. He was married to Courtney R. Lloyd on April 28, 2018, in Geneva. He was a member of the Van Wert County Coon Hunters Club. He was a welding table lead for Poseidon Barge in Berne, and he was always No. 1. In addition to his skills at welding, he operated a custom baling business with his father, Hoss Brandt. “Hard worker” that summed up his life. In addition to working at Poseidon, he would bale hay for many area farmers. Among his most loyal customers were area Amish farmers who greatly respected both he and Hoss for their honesty in business. He was an amazing husband, father, brother and uncle. He is survived by his wife, Courtney Brandt of Willshire, Ohio; a daughter, Raigan Brandt; two sons, Carter Brandt and Johnathan Brandt all at home; a sister, Stephanee (James) Slaasted of Decatur; many nieces and nephews, Sabrina Slaasted, Eva Slaasted, Damien Slaasted, Remington Slaasted, Kacelin Slaasted, Noah Guerra, Gracie Guerra, Hunter Lloyd, Jordon Galloway and Tyeron Galloway. He was preceded in death by his parents; paternal grandparents, Tom and Dorothy Brandt; maternal grandparents, Robert “Brownie” and Wilma Louise Brown; and cousin, Josh Brandt.    Visitation is from 2-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday, June 27 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur and one hour prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service Tuesday, June 28 at the funeral home. David “Snuffy” Smith will officiate. Burial will follow at Willshire Cemetery in Willshire, Ohio.
