Carolee Nussbaum

Carolee L. Nussbaum, 85, passed away Monday, October 3, 2022, at her residence. She was born August 19, 1937, in Dailey, West Virginia to Clancy and Ione (Cutright) Loudin. She was married October 2, 1956, in Elkins, West Virginia to Lawrence “Larry” Roop. He preceded her in death March 1, 2002. She was married January 9, 2009, to David W. Nussbaum.
She was a member of First Mennonite Church in Berne. She helped with the preschool and Wednesday night meals at church. She was a high school graduate from Mill Creek High School in West Virginia. She was employed at Berne Furniture Co. in Berne for 26 years before her retirement.
She is survived by her husband of Berne; two sons, Michael (Sheila) Roop of Decatur; and Jeff (Sandy) Roop of Geneva; daughter, Karen (Tom) Thowsen of Henderson, Nevada; two step-daughters, Nancy Mock; and Michelle (Chris) Sealscott, both of Berne; four grandchildren, Doug (Kayli) Roop; Chelsey (Jordan) Neal; Jeff (Jackie) Roop; and Isaac Roop; four great-grandchildren; and 11 step-grandchildren.  
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter-in-law, Roxanne Roop; granddaughter, Jessica Roop; two brothers, Howard Loudin; and Roscoe Loudin; step-son, Ronald David Nussbaum; and step-daughter, Kathy Kuhn.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the 2 p.m. funeral service Saturday, October 8 at First Mennonite Church in Berne. Officiating will be Pastor Jeff Linthicum.
