Andrew Miller

Andrew “Andy” F. Miller, 95, of Decatur passed away Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2023, at Adams Woodcrest assisted living. He was born April 24, 1928, in Adams County to Peter C. and Bertha (Gase) Miller. He was married April 29, 1950, to Jacquelyn “Jackie” Teeple.
He was a lifelong parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Decatur, where he served as an usher and Eucharistic minister.
During his lifetime, he worked at Arnold Lumber Company, Teeple Truck Lines and was a driver examiner for the Bureau of Motor Vehicles. He also raised livestock on the family’s farm, and he was an owner of Decatur Video Rental Center in Decatur. He was a graduate of St. Joseph Catholic School in Decatur.
He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and watching IU basketball and Notre Dame football.
He is survived by his wife of Decatur; two daughters, Susan K. (James) Sheets of Geneva; and Janet A. (David) Tricker of Decatur; four sons, Andrew M. (Gina) Miller of Texas; Adam T. (Susan) Miller of Decatur; Patrick R. (Kelly Sickafoose) Miller of Woodburn; and Stan M. (Michelle) Miller of Farmland; 16 grandchildren, Jonathan (Stacey) Sheets; Amy (Jason) Deathe; Holly (Joseph) Cantu; Nathan (Rachel) Tricker; Jason (Sara) Tricker; Matthew (Robin) Tricker; Ben (Eleigh) Tricker; Jenny Hobbs; Andy (Nicole) Miller, Luke (Marta) Miller; Rachel Miller; Krista (Brien) McElhatten; Annika Miller; Kade Miller; Isaiah Deathe; and Grace Deathe; two sisters, Frances Gruss; and Naureen Ehinger; and 22 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Bryan James Miller; and son-in-law, David Tricker; two brothers, Oscar Miller; and James Miller; and two sisters, Rosalie Noonan; and Sr. Bertha Ann Miller.
Visitation will be Sunday, Aug. 27 from 12-3:30 p.m. at Adams Woodcrest assisted living with the Holy Rosary being recited at 3 p.m. and Monday, Aug. 28 from 9-10 a.m. in the St. Mary’s Parish Hall immediately followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. The funeral mass will be concelebrated by Father David Ruppert and Father Steve Colchin. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
