Alice Patterson

Alice L. Patterson, 91, of Berne passed away Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 4 p.m. at Swiss Village in Berne. She was born Friday, April 22, 1932, in Berne to Floyd and Wilma (Tinkham) Myers. She was married Saturday, Dec. 15, 1951, at the Bethel Brethren Church east of Berne to Charles William “Bill” Patterson.
She was a 1950 graduate of Jefferson High School in Berne. She was a member of the West Missionary Church in Berne. She had been a seamstress all her life. She worked for Dunbar Furniture in Berne for 25 years and also worked for K&S Candy Supplies in Berne. She loved gardening and making quilts. She had made several baby quilts for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the gardening club and of the Swiss Stitchers Quilt Guild, both in Berne. She had made many alterations on several items through the years, including wedding dresses. She and her husband enjoyed wintering in Florida and camping in their motor home.
She will be sadly missed by her son, Rick (Natalie) Patterson of Berne; two daughters, Carolyn Springer of Fort Wayne; and Rhonda Hayes of Berne; daughter-in-law, Kathie Patterson of Berne; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son, Ronald W. Patterson; three brothers, Herbert Myers; James Myers; and Harrold Myers; two sisters, Ruth Elett; and Izorah Myers; and an infant brother and sister.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 20 for two hours prior to the 12 p.m. service to celebrate her life at West Missionary Church, 4295 W. S.R. 218, Berne. Officiating will be Pastor Keith Rupp. Burial will be at Backesto Cemetery.
