Albert Andrews

Albert L. Andrews, 92, of Decatur passed away Friday, November 4, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born July 5, 1930, in Monroe to Eli and Nellie (Wordon) Andrews. He was married July 19, 1953, in Willshire, Ohio to Minnie V. Myers.
He served his country in the United States Army during the Korea era and was honorably discharged. He was a member of Decatur Church of God in Decatur. He was a bridge crane operator at Phelps Dodge. He retired in 1987 after 40 years. He was a proud farmer and loved his Lord and Savior.
He is survived by three sons, Jerald (Colleen) Andrews; Roger (Julie) Andrews; and Steven Andrews, all of Decatur; two daughters, Jill (Kevin) Counterman of Willshire, Ohio; and Robin (David) Myers of Convoy, Ohio; four grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife on June 28, 2019; grandson, Jason David Andrews; granddaughter-in-law, Renee Joy Andrews; two brothers, Rev. Paul Andrews; and Billy Bovine; and two sisters, Leah Zurcher; and Evelyn Espich.
Visitation will be three hours prior to the 1 p.m. funeral service Wednesday, November 9 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur. Officiating will be Pastor Sandra Hildebrand. Burial will be at Decatur Cemetery. Military graveside service will be conducted by the American Legion Post Color Guard #43.
