Rev. Victor I. McKinley

Rev. Victor I. McKinley, 94, of Bluffton, formerly of Berne, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Signature Health Care in Bluffton. He was born on May 15, 1922 in Meadville, Pennsylvania to V.I. and Edith (Losee) McKinley. He was married on February 3, 1943 to Ethel Gilson.

He was a member of the First Missionary Church in Berne, where he sang in the choir. He was ordained in the Free Methodist Church and pastored for 20 years throughout the Midwest. During his ministry, he also was employed at the Meadville Tribune as a negative assembler and also for the Gray Printing Company in Fostoria, Ohio as a camera operator. He was a veteran serving in the Air Force as a cryptologist during WWII serving in the Asia Pacific region near the Azures. He was a master craftsman in the fine arts and excelled in photography, woodworking, lace making, knitting and singing.

He is survived by his daughter, Vicki (Lynn) DeArmond of Berne; foster son, Michael (Tracy) Harmon of Findlay, Ohio; foster daughter, Denise (Harmon) Thompson of Orville, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife in 2012; and sister, Florence Peters.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Burial will be at Union Cemetery in Titusville, Pennsylvania.
