John J. Neuenschwander

John J. Neuenschwander, 75, of Burr Oak, Michigan died on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was born on May 11, 1943 in Berne to Jonas C. and Lovina (Schwartz) Neuenschwander. He was married on December 1, 1966 in Berne to Elizabeth Schwartz.

They have lived near Burr Oak since 1996. He was a member and bishop in the Old Order Amish Church.

He is survived by his wife of Burr Oak, Michigan; daughter, Elizabeth (Neal Dean) Bontrager of Colon, Michigan; four sons, John Neuenschwander of Keystone; Jonas (Veronica) Neuenschwander of Burr Oak, Michigan; Victor (Rachel) Neuenschwander of Centreville, Michigan; and Christian (Marilyn) Neuenschwander of Mendon, Michigan; brother, Pete (Naomi) Neuenschwander of Geneva; two sisters, Lea (Dan) Schwartz of Geneva; and Lydia (Jacob) Schwartz of Bryant; 38 grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother and sister-in-law, Chris (Anna) Neuenschwander.

Visitation was from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 7 and 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 8 at the Community Youth Center (CYC), 59321 Nottawa Road, Centreville, Michigan. Funeral services were at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, July 9 at the CYC. Burial was at the Old Amish Cemetery on Truckenmiller Road.
