Grace O. Eloranta

Grace O. Eloranta, 93, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Swiss Village in Berne. She was born on April 17, 1924 in Berne to Harry and Frieda (Neuhauser) Sprunger. She was married to Walter G. Eloranta.

After moving to Fort Wayne, she worked at Lincoln Bank, where she met her husband. They were married for 62 years and raised three children. She devoted her life to serving God and her family, which she did with excellence. She was a wonderful cook, seamstress, and more. Whatever she laid her hand to prospered. She was a co-owner of the Cotton Patch in Bluffton, and she also volunteered at International House, teaching women to knit and crochet. 

She is survived by three daughters, Sandra Sillampa of Colby, Wisconsin; Nancy (Robert) Rhee of Fort Wayne; and Barbara (Ted) Dynes of Decatur; two sisters, Rosanna Kohli; and Beverly (Dwight) Neuenschwander; nine grandchildren, Josie Miller, David Sillampa, Timothy Sillampa, and Kelly Sillampa; Elizabeth Rubio and Suzanne Rhee; Seth Dynes, Olivia Dynes, and Joshua Dynes; and two great-grandchildren, Vivian Sillampa and Daniel Miller.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sister, Florieda Baysinger; and brother, Meredith Sprunger.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the 11:00 a.m. funeral service on Saturday, February 17 at the Swiss Village Auditorium. Burial will be at MRE Cemetery in Berne.
