Robin K. La Rue

Rev. Robin Kent La Rue, 75, received his eternal reward Sunday, November 12, 2017 surrounded by his family, caregivers, and friends. He was born in Goshen to Deane and Elsa La Rue.

He loved his Savior, Jesus; his wife, Rosemary; and his children.

He pastored multiple Mennonite, CM&A, and Church of the Brethren congregations in Indiana and Minnesota for 40 years before he became a chaplain for Heartland Hospice in 2004 until his retirement in 2013.

He is survived by three daughters, Tonya La Rue of Elkhart; Rochelle Moore; and Christine (Michael) Mortensen of Fort Wayne; son, Shawn (Emily) La Rue of Auburn; brother, Jan (Sandy) La Rue; sister and nephew, Penny and Ryan Pequignot; Joe Moore; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his daughter, Jessica; brother, Terry, and grandson, Jonathan Mortensen.

Visitation will be from 3:00 to 5:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 16 at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne and one hour prior to the 11:00 a.m. funeral service on Friday, November 17 at St. Henry’s Catholic Church, 2929 E. Paulding Rd, Fort Wayne.

Memorials may be made to the family for final expenses and ministry.
